WeatherGuard
Frame Installation & Finishing Recommendations

Installation:
WeatherGuard jambs must be properly shimmed. For complete instructions refer to recommendations printed on DoorGuard.

Painting: White Cap & Textured Embossed Frame
Surface Preparation:
Wipe the frame thoroughly with appropriate water borne cleaner/degreaser for PVC type products to remove dirt, grease and other residue from the surface. Rinse the jamb off thoroughly and allow drying completely before applying paint.
Coating:
Apply two coats of exterior enamel paint as per manufacturers technical data and label instructions for use with PVC type products. Kelly Moore Dura-Poxy, Sherwin Williams SuperPaint A85 Series latex enamel and Parker Paint Speed Dri oil enamel are recommended by these manufacturers for use with the WeatherGuard frame without priming.
NOTES:
-Do not sand or abrade the frame.
-Do not use paint thinner or other petroleum distillates to clean the frame if a latex enamel topcoat is to be applied.
-Follow manufacturers instructions regarding dry time before re-coating.
-WeatherGuard Frames do not require painting to maintain the warranty.

Staining: Textured Embossed Frame
It is recommended that a Codel Stain Kit be used for this purpose. Six colors of stain are available and complete finishing instructions are included.
